Isolaverde Isolaverde is a small village in the borough of Chioggia untouched by the confusion of the city. Contact with nature and the tranquillity of a holiday near the sea are key features for anyone wanting to spend their holidays in Isolaverde. Country roads or the river banks of the Adige and Brenta offer landscapes characterised by the flora and fauna in natural settings where an excursion by bike or on foot, even to the nearby Bosco Nordio, provide wellbeing and relaxation for the body and a feast for the eyes. Some illustrative photos about:
Nowadays the island is situated between the two deltas of the rivers Adige and Brenta. In the west the canal Busiola, which connects the two rivers, separates the island from the solid ground. The earliest signs of the civilization on the island date back to the 850. On the island there where large territories in a natural state. One of these pieces of land was property of the Dukes Comello, who used the territory mainly for hunting. Some remains of the buildings can still be seen. The potatoes, among other vegetables like onions, cabbages, peas, carrots and beans, were cultivated on the territory. Surprisingly there are no signs of the cultivation of radicchio (tipical red salad of the location), which is nowadays the proud of Chioggia. The early fields of the island were made by the inhabitants of Sottomarina by hard work. The deltas of the rivers offer not only beatyful landscapes, but also great fishing opportunities.
