Excursions in the lagoon

Venetian Lagoon is not very deep, while the surface area reaches circa 550 km2 making it the biggest lagoon of the Mediterranean Sea.The lagoon has both natural and artificial canals. It's situated between the Adriatic Sea and Venetian plain. It'e separated from the sea by narrow pieces of sandy land like Cavallino, Lido island and Pellestrina. There are three places where the seawater enters in the lagoon: bocche di porto di Lido, Malamocco and Chioggia. The Venetian Lagoon is rich of various species.

Fishing

It's possible to spend a day on board of the typical fishing boats of Chioggia. You'll get familiar with the various species living in the lagoon while observing the ancient ritual that is taught over generations.
